EDDM-LITE Scenery v1.2
============================================================================
compatible with X-Plane Version:7.41-7.61 (and possibly 7.xx,not tested)
Intended for visual flight (vfr). Have fun we had a lot of fun building this scenery!

============================================================================
What is new? since EDDM 1.1.
============================================================================

EDDM LITE was done to help those who see a slide show instead of flying over EDDM and those who fly online. It is based on EDDM 1.1 and has 90% in common with EDDM 1.1. The EDDM-Lite version uses only one terrain texture for the airport area. Instead of the smaller roads and footwalks in the terrain textures, we use the trail vectors. Parking areas were done using asphalt taxiways. In order to give the correct impression, we had to change the colour of the trail bitmap. With EDDM-Lite you lose some terrain information. It has no static airplanes to spare polygones and textures. We removed all airport vehicles and trees.
We added two new buildings (Airport Administration) at the North-West end of the Airport.
The package size decreases from 48 MB to under 7 MB.
It is not, what we intend to do for the Version 2 of EDDM, but a quick solution to allow CPUs with lower graphics power to run EDDM. We experienced a 70-100% increase in framerates. The results are however very dependant of CPU and graphics board you use, and can not be predicted.
We release at the same time a static AddOn package that contains static aircraft, vehicles and trees. To be added to EDDM Lite if the graphic power of the PC is sufficient.

============================================================================
Rendering settings for PCs with low graphic power:
============================================================================
weather:
	set max visibility to 6nm, no clouds, only high haze layers.
rendering options:
	texture quality to normal and 16 Bit
	on: draw roads and taxilines - everything else off.
	number of aircraft auf 1 stellen
	aircraft on ground off
	autogen density to 00
time:
	daylight

If you have enough performance - activate following Rendering Options in X-Plane:
-	draw cars
-	draw textured lights
-	draw shadows and reflections
- texture resolution: try what is possible on your CPU
-     32 Bit

recommended plug-in: XPushBack (c) 2004 GoodWay Team

============================================================================
Installation:
============================================================================
- put the EDDM-Lite_1.2 folder inside your Custom Scenery folder.
- put the taxiline.bmp inside your \Resources\bitmaps\runways folder, overwriting the existing one (backup the original one).
- put the trail.png inside your \Resources\bitmaps\world\roads folder, overwriting the existing one (backup the original one).

============================================================================
Limitations:
============================================================================
yet no taxi signs, some misaligned roads, no authenticity of Apron-
markings, yet no ground traffic (ask Austin for such a feature)some buildings missing, some with little detail, no authentic red lights at night on tower ect., standard fence (feature of X-Plane) not in alignment with airport, Ju52 and other static vintage aircrafts missing, some transparent structures flickering. Not optimized to the max - we plan to do a more complete job for release 2.0 of EDDM.

============================================================================
Plans for next versions:
============================================================================
split in lite, middle and full version to allow installation in systems with lower
performance, improvement in some buildings and addition of most missing ones,
better and authentic ground vehicles, improved night lighting and better light design, fence problem
eliminated, more surrounding landmarks (Munich), more detailed terrain texture. Some of the new
features are dependant on improvements, that we have requested from Austin.

Special thanks:
To Ben Supnik the author of the X-Plane to AC3D Converter (http://www.xsquawkbox.net/tools/index.php).
To Jonathan Harris (x-plane@marginal.org.uk)for his X-Plane plugins that were used before the AC3D plugin became available and for optimization of rendering performance.
Models were done using Blender in the beginning, later with AC3D Copyright Inivis Limited 2004.
Textures were created with the help of Paint Shop Pro 8.0.

Thanks again to Jonathan Harris and Ben Supnik for important inputs and quick help on improving the rendering performance.
Thanks to Austin Meyers for the wonderful X-Plane program.
